acupuncture

Acupuncture is a part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The basis of TCM is the balance of yin and yang, which allows the qi to flow freely in the body. Qi travels through the body via the energy channels (meridians) and the organs can function systematically as a unit. If more yin or more yang predominates, the body becomes out of balance and diseases can arise. This imbalance can arise from both internal and external factors. Internal factors include emotions that are too strong or too long. The outer ones include wind, drought or cold. The acupuncture needles stimulate specific points on the meridians, release the blockages and gently bring the body back into balance.

Acupuncture treatment can be used for diseases of the internal organs as well as problems of the musculoskeletal system. It is also indicated for acute and chronic diseases.
