leech therapy

Leeches release their saliva into the bite site during blood sucking. This contains a variety of helpful ingredients. Among other things, anti-inflammatory and local anticoagulant substances are released. This stimulates the metabolism and has an analgesic effect.

Areas of application include:

  • arthrotic diseases (shell, spar, etc.)
  • Ligament and tendon disorders
  • Pressure sores and galls
  • tension
  • wound healing
  • eczema
  • abscesses
  • Inflammation (laminitis, hoof roll, etc.)

The leech treatment takes between one and two hours. Because of the anticoagulant substances from the saliva, bleeding occurs for a few hours. Before the leech therapy, some conditions need to be clarified (medication, blood clotting disorder, etc.). If you are interested, just contact me.
